PSMC’s Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with physicians and nurses trained and experienced in emergency care. The Emergency Department at PSMC has two fully equipped trauma bays and five additional monitored emergency rooms to care for our patient’s emergent needs. In addition, PSMC is an accredited Level IV Trauma Center and Critical Access Hospital with on-site state of the art radiology equipment and a certified laboratory. PSMC’s Emergency Department may transfer a patient if indicated for critical care and/or multi-specialty care.

Seek immediate medical care for any of the following conditions:

Abdominal pain
Broken bones
Chest pain or heart problems
Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
Fainting
Large open wounds
Major burns
Severe head injury
Severe or unusual headache
Spinal injuries
Sudden change in vision
Sudden weakness or trouble talking
Uncontrolled bleeding
