Full-Time Openings

Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opening for a full time Clinic RN. The RN is responsible for providing nursing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider. The RN will assist the Provider in delivering high quality patient care and accurately document all necessary information within the patient’s chart. The RN will perform nurse triage across the lifespan, in person and over the phone, using accepted nursing triage protocols and workflows. CT/RT Technologist

The Radiologic Technologist will support the mission and values of PSMC. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the CT/RT Tech performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The CT/RT Tech also performs fluoroscopic procedures to assist the Radiologist, Surgeon or ordering provider in various locations in the facility. Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an opening for a full time Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech). The Echo Tech will support the mission and values of PSMC. The Echo Tech works independently performing professional level assessments and a variety of noninvasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate and records the results and clinical preliminary impressions as indicated. The results of these test are used to direct the course of patient care. The Echo Tech encounters difficult problems related to examinations and must resolve them with limited supervision. There is daily contact with professionals and families.

This position is a full performance Echocardiography Technologist with advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and disease. All examinations are performed within standard protocols and in a variety of settings (outpatient, emergency department and inpatient unit) using portable equipment.

The sonographer performs transthoracic echocardiograms, treadmill exercise stress echocardiograms, Holter/ Event monitor setup and reporting, and assists with ECG stress testing. 

    • Education Requirements: May have completed course in ultrasound/echocardiography technology, and may have additional registration as Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS). Sonographer must maintain Continuing Medical Education as required by registry.

The Employee Health nurse develops and administers the Employee Health Program at Pagosa Springs Medical Center. Responsibilities associated with this position include Identification of work-related risks and developing programs and strategies that reduce those risks as much as possible, including a Fitness for Duty program. It is the role of the EMT-P in the USJHSD to assist in all aspects of providing the highest quality patient care possible. This would include providing direct patient care for those patients that fall under the EMT-P scope of practice and overseeing the care provided by EMT-Bs and EMT-Is.   • Education/Experience Requirements: EMT-P national standard curriculum. Must have experience as a working as an EMT-P. Preferably in an operational setting, providing pre-hospital and inter-facility care to sick and injured patients. Must have knowledge of clinical scope of practice skills, critical thinking and concepts of ALS prehospital patient care. Prefer experience with providing patient care within scope of practice in dynamic settings requiring adaptability and high levels of awareness and critical thinking.
