Friday’s PSMC radio show at KWUF featured Jason Webb, PSMC EMS Chief/Director of EMS and Crystal DeCola, Director of Nursing.
Jason Webb discussed PSMC’s designation as a Level IV Trauma facility. He explained the collaboration between the trauma team in the emergency department and the other departments at PSMC including EMS, surgery, and more. He also discussed the importance of the “Golden Hour” in trauma, and how safety and education can prevent many types of trauma. Crystal DeCola added to the discussion concerning the emergency department, trauma nurses and the level of care provided.
Jason also provided details about the CDOT construction project and how PSMC EMS has planned for emergencies during construction.
Crystal wrapped up the show by providing updates on PSMC’s new Medical Wellness Building, PSMC’s new pulmonology service, and a new neurologist who has joined the PSMC specialty team.
